AllergyNest

Cookie Policy

Our pages set no cookies for readers and use no local storage, advertising or tracking technologies. Clinic accounts use one cookie to keep doctors and practice staff signed in.

Policy update, October 28, 2026: you can now sign up for food allergen recall alerts by email. Our Privacy Policy, Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy and Terms of Use explain what a recall alert sign-up keeps, that alerts go only to confirmed addresses, and what the alerts can’t do.

October 19, 2026: doctors in our allergist directory, and the people who work at their practices, can now claim their listing. Our Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy and new Directory Listing Terms explain what a clinic account keeps. Readers still don’t need an account, and our pages still set no cookies for them.

October 17, 2026: you can now sign up for pollen alert emails. Our Privacy Policy and Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy explain what a sign-up keeps and how to delete it.

Cookies are small pieces of data that a website asks your browser to store. AllergyNest’s pages set no cookies for readers. The only cookie we set is for clinic accounts, which doctors and practice staff use to manage a listing in our allergist directory, and only after they sign in.

What our pages use

For readers, none of these technologies. Our pages:

  • set no cookies, unless you sign in to a clinic account
  • use no local storage
  • use no advertising, tracking pixels, social media pixels or session replay

When you sign in to a clinic account, we set one cookie so that you stay signed in:

CookieWhat it doesHow long it lasts
__Host-an_sessionKeeps you signed in to your clinic account. It holds a random code that we store only in hashed form, linked to your account.Up to 30 days, or until you sign out

It is strictly necessary for the account to work, so it doesn’t need your consent. It is our own cookie, it is sent only to allergynest.com over a secure connection, and scripts on the page can’t read it. We don’t use it for analytics or advertising, and we never set it for readers who don’t sign in. Signing out deletes it.

Our visit counter

We count visits with Vercel Web Analytics, a visit counter from our hosting provider. It uses no cookies and stores nothing on your device. It shows us totals, such as how many people viewed a page, and identifies no one. It is the only script on our pages that isn’t our own code, and it is served from our own domain. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control or “Do Not Track” signal, your visit isn’t counted. Our Privacy Policy lists exactly what it records.

Our fonts are served from our own domain too, so viewing a page doesn’t contact a font service.

One exception that isn’t ours

In rare cases, our hosting provider, Vercel, may set a strictly necessary security cookie, for example if it challenges traffic that looks automated. It is a security cookie, not an advertising or analytics cookie. We don’t set it, we don’t read it, and we don’t use it to track you.

If this changes

If we ever add other cookies or similar technologies, we will update this page first. We will list each one with its purpose and how long it lasts, and ask for your consent where the law requires.

Controlling cookies

Most browsers let you see, block and delete cookies in their settings.

More information

Our Privacy Policy explains what information we collect and why.

Changes to this policy

19 October 2026: we added the sign-in cookie for clinic accounts, ahead of opening them. Pages for readers still set no cookies.
