Corrections Policy
How to tell AllergyNest about an error, how we check it, and how we fix and mark corrections.
If something on AllergyNest is wrong, we want to know, and we want to fix it.
How to report an error
Email hello@allergynest.com with the subject line “Correction”. Please include:
- the address of the page;
- what you think is wrong;
- a source that shows the correct information, if you have one.
You don’t need a source to report an error, but one helps us check it faster. Errors include a fact that is wrong or out of date, a claim its cited source doesn’t support, and pollen values shown for the wrong place or day.
What we do
- We check. We compare your report with the sources the page cites and with any source you send.
- If we got it wrong, we fix it. We correct the page and change its updated date.
- If the error was significant, we say so. A significant error is one whose correction changes the meaning of a health statement or changes a number. For these, in a guide, we also add a short correction note at the end of the guide saying what changed and when. If the error was in how a pollen page shows data, we fix the code that shows it and say what we fixed when we reply to you.
- If we decide the page is right, we tell you why.
We don’t silently change the meaning of a health statement. Every correction to a guide or policy page changes its updated date, and every significant correction to a guide gets a note.
How long it takes
We aim to reply within 5 business days. We fix confirmed errors as quickly as we can, and errors that could affect someone’s safety come first.
Errors in pollen data
Our pollen levels come from Google’s model. They are modeled estimates, not measured pollen counts, and they can be wrong. We can’t correct the values in Google’s model ourselves. If a value looks wrong, please tell us anyway: we can report it to Google, and we label the data as modeled wherever we show it.
If the problem is in how we show the data, such as the wrong metro, date or label, that is our error, and we fix it like any other.
