Ara Ohanian, editor
Ara edits AllergyNest. He is a parent of two children with allergies, and for seven years he has worked with allergy clinics and allergists across the US.
At home and at work
Allergies are part of family life for Ara: both of his children have them. At work, he has spent seven years with allergy practices across the US, helping clinics and allergists reach patients, analyzing allergy data, and helping practices grow.
AllergyNest brings those two sides together: daily pollen for 131 US metros, and plain, sourced explanations of the allergens behind most allergies.
What he is not
Ara is not a doctor or a clinician. Our allergen pages explain what an allergen is, the symptoms it causes, where and when people meet it, and when to see an allergist. Pages about treatment and medicines wait until a clinician has reviewed them.
How we write these pages
Every page starts from primary sources: US agencies such as the FDA, the CDC and the USDA, and the allergy societies ACAAI and AAAAI. Drafts are written with the help of AI from those sources, then checked claim by claim against them in separate AI fact-check passes that open every source. Each claim links to its source, and each page shows the date it last changed.
Ara is responsible for every page we publish and updates pages when their sources change. The full process is in our editorial policy. If you find a mistake, we want to fix it: see corrections.
Independence
No clinic pays to appear in our health content, and our guides never recommend a particular clinic. If we ever show paid placements, they will be labeled “Sponsored”. The rules are in our advertising and affiliate policy.
For allergy practices
Ara also runs Aragil, a marketing agency that works with allergy practices on growth, patient outreach and data. Practices can reach him through aragil.com. That work is separate from what we publish here.
